    HR Generalist | Employee Experience Manager

    The Human Resources Generalist (Employee Experience Manager) is a key position for the company. You will be responsible for applying business knowledge and human resources expertise to a wide range of HR support, training, and administration services for The Penny Hoarder. You’ll manage the recruitment process, onboarding & offboarding employees, benefits & payroll administration, file documentation and maintenance of our human resources systems, leaves of absence and workers compensation claims, employee relations and performance management administration. 

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Implement and administer employee policies, identifying ways to improve current  policies and procedures
    • Provide HR support to management on daily employee relations and performance management issues
    • Support the HR department in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience and further advance our continuous improvement culture
    • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, involving initial recruitment, onboarding, and employee orientation. Maintain ongoing relationships with employment agencies and other 3rd party resources to ensure the selection of the most qualified candidates
    • Manage the onboarding/offboarding process, prepare documentation and ensure that proper company protocols are followed
    • Manage employee benefits and relationships with brokerage firms, proactively evaluate current plans and cost structures
    • 401(k) Administration
    • Oversee the payroll process working closely with the Finance department - managing all status changes (e.g. schedules, pay rates, deductions)
    • Ensure legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and/or procedures as required
    • Primary contact for employee inquiries regarding policies and procedures, payroll, time off, benefits, health insurance, leaves of absence, etc.
    • Support managers and company leadership in the development and implementation of positive employee relations and recognition programs to maintain a consistently supportive, collaborative and energized company culture
    • Manage all HR tools and systems providing help to other users
    • Other duties as assigned

    Technical Skills / Qualifications

    • 6+ years’ experience in HR
    • Deeply knowledgeable in HR policies and procedures as well as compliance with federal, state and local employment, and benefits laws and regulations
    • Must possess a high degree of professionalism and ability to protect sensitive and confidential information
    • Strong knowledge of hiring processes with understanding of HR best practices and current regulations
    • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent word processing and spreadsheet skills, ideally in a Google Suites environment
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
    • Highly organized and able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Analytical and critical thinking skills, able to comprehend complex materials and highly detail oriented

    Educational Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree required in Human Resources Management or related discipline, master’s degree a plus
    • Professional Certification (PHR, SPHR, CEBS, RPA) preferred
