Client Success Manager

As a Client Success Manager at The Penny Hoarder, you’ll be an integral part of cultivating the growth of The Penny Hoarder client partnerships. You will be part of a dedicated portfolio management account team, managing relationships with key advertising partners. You will work closely with product, marketing, and our brand editorial groups to execute on a $1M+ performance marketing portfolio budget. Key aspects of the role include: creating effective account plans that include the best solutions to meet client objectives, proactively leading the process to grow accounts, leading new client on-boarding and the account-planning process, adhering to established processes to ensure success, fostering internal relationships to drive revenue growth, driving strategic client account development, campaign performance reporting and project coordination, and ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery of brand and affiliate performance advertising campaigns. 

Our ideal Client Success Manager will:

  • Act as the point of contact for all post-sales inquiries with advertisers, affiliate networks, and performance agencies
  • Maintain and cultivate value-driven, collaborative partnerships with clients; develop an understanding of client objectives and KPIs; ensure successful campaign delivery and execution
  • Own all communication with clients; leverage client partnerships to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes (more revenue, better business model, better user flow, etc.) while meeting or exceeding client expectations (scale, quality, LTV, etc.)
  • Consistently grow client revenue and delivery volume of high-performing accounts month-over-month; develop and implement strategies that will strengthen overall campaign performance (content/optimization opportunities, rate increases, etc.)
  • Assertively and accurately manage all aspects of assigned accounts, including tracking, forecasting, and pacing
  • Consistently and accurately conduct deep marketing performance analysis to support account growth; identify, investigate and resolve deviations in performance metrics (conversion rates, LTV, CTR, etc.)
  • Partner with ad operations to build and schedule campaigns; monitor daily to ensure campaigns are tracking as expected
  • Other duties as assigned

As a Client Success Manager, you will support The Penny Hoarder’s mission by providing: 

Sales Support

  • Proactively identify market opportunities that support revenue growth
  • Inform prospecting efforts; notify sales of high performing offers and potential new clients
  • Provide detailed analysis of vertical market performance
  • Identify how potential advertisers support our mission

Post-Campaign Launch Support

  • Support client on-boarding through the setup of postback tracking; demonstrate an understanding of tracking protocols and platforms
  • Work internally with demand generation and ad ops to monitor campaign performance, make optimizations and ensure campaign delivery
  • Maintain and cultivate client relationships by understanding client objectives and KPIs
  • Own successful campaign delivery and execution; ensure acceptable traffic volume and content compliance
  • Effectively communicate with clients to determine goals and set appropriate expectations
  • Conduct sales/pitch presentations with existing clients; prepare key data points, findings, and relevant research
  • Achieve revenue targets by using consultative selling based on historical statistics and mutual goals to grow client partnerships and increase product line usage
  • Suggest editorial content revisions to support the delivery of client KPIs

Operations/Process Management

  • Perform Salesforce and HasOffers data entry and maintenance to ensure accurate reporting and record-keeping
  • Troubleshoot tracking issues and escalate discrepancies as they arise to enable fast action for internal stakeholders
  • Facilitate timely and accurate accounting and billing; input monthly budgets and revenue amounts; verify invoice delivery; manage accounts receivable to ensure payments are received on-time
  • Reconcile and analyze client-side reporting data; identify and resolve discrepancies

Skills we want you to have:

  • Experience:  At least 3 years in account management and digital advertising, preferably from publisher or agency; experience working with a range of third party vendors
  • Communication:  Excellent written and verbal communication; professional attitude; able to clearly articulate opinions and needs in a manner that drives the business forward
  • Organized:  Able to work independently, effectively manage time and priorities, and meet deadlines – all while maintaining a positive attitude and professional demeanor
  • Flexible:  Able to adjust hours to meet campaign launches and client deadlines (ex. evening campaign launch, early morning reporting request, occasional weekend coverage, etc.)
  • Analytical:  Leverage understanding of digital performance marketing measurements to analyze data and make informed recommendations and decisions; articulate the why behind recommendations and decisions
  • Decision Making:  Able to make quick, informed decisions and successfully multitask on a variety of projects at once – all while keeping a cool head
  • Drive: Willingness to go above and beyond to deliver campaign success
